Gratituesday: Babywearing

Photobucket
Join us for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers!

When my daughter was born three years ago, I sadly had not known about the wonderful world of babywearing. I would have loved swaddling her up in my stretchy wrap while her cute little face with the button nose was laying on my chest, sound asleep.

Photobucket

I did, however, discover Babywearing just in time. {and in fact, with the right child! God knew what He was doing. It was all a part of His plan!}

My son, from birth, has been very needy. Always wanting held. Would cry when you would put him down. Extremely attached to me. If I hadn't discovered Babywearing and all of it's benefits, I would have most likely gone insane! {not to mention my family would have never gotten fed, laundry never done, and the house a total mess!}

Photobucket

As a mother, it is my job to soothe my child with a hug. To make them feel safe and secure by my embrace. Babywearing made it all the more easier to get those snuggles in throughout the day...especially with a toddler running around!

I will wipe all tears from your eyes. Revelation 7:1
I will not abandon you. Deuteronomy 4:31

We are still babywearing {at 15 months} when out and about and enjoying every minute of it! The days of snuggling and holding go by so very fast. I am going to embrace them for as long as I can!

Although I am saddened at the fact that I never got to experience the joys of babywearing with my daughter, I am also very grateful that I did discover them with my son, before it was too late altogether!

{If you have any questions about the safety and benefits of babywearing and  what type of carrier to choose, please email me or leave a comment below. I love talking about babywearing and helping moms out with this wonderful experience!}

Perseverance

God "will give to each person according to what he has done."To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. ~ Romans 2:6-7

Goals.

Who has some?

I have many!

BIG goals such as moving into a bigger house by my daughters 5th birthday {she is 3 1/2} and  being completely debt free by my husbands 30th birthday which is March 20, 2011!

Running a 5k by Mother's Day! Reading through all the books on my bookshelf before the end of the year. Knittng my best friend a blanket and matching stuffed animal for her baby who is due in February. Getting my family on a budget that allows me to buy more natural/organic foods. And, the most important goal I have, is to read through the entire Bible in 90 days and finish by October 2nd.

How am I doing with these goals, you may ask? Well, we started looking at houses, but have yet to put ours on the market. My husband put a plan into affect a month ago to help us reach the goal of being debt free and so far, so good!

The running, yeah, that isn't going as planned. I started out strong, running 2 miles/3 nights a week, but life got in the way and I have yet to get back into my routine. I haven't read through an entire book all summer. {this is so depressing to me because I used to be able to read a book a week...sometimes 2!} The knitting! Ha! No needles have touched these hands of mine in a long time! And the budget for better foods is coming along...

But, I am happy to say that the reason some of these goals have had to take a "back seat" is because I have been spending so much time in His Word and loving every minute of it! Growing closer and closer to my Heavenly Father and soaking in all that He is wanting to tell me. {and I am needing to hear!}

I will be the first to admit that this challenge has not been easy for me. Especially at times when the whole house is quiet because everyone is napping {a rarity in my house!} and I really want to pick up a novel that is just wanting to be read from off the shelf, but instead, I pick up my Bible. And I do not regret it!

I have gotten behind. Then ahead. Then behind again. But all in all, I am learning and loving and growing in my spiritual walk with Jesus Christ!

I will persevere and reach that goal, because the prize He has for me is the most rewarding!

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 3:13-14

My FIRST Giveaway!

I am so very excited to be offering up my first giveaway!

I had the pleasure of winning the complete series of The Yada Yada Prayer Group books by Neta Jackson, a couple of weeks back, so I am offering my original copy of the first book, The Yada Yada Prayer Group, to one of you! {i don't really need two copies of the same book, although it is very good!}

Photobucket
Synopsis from Barnes and Nobles

 What do an ex-con, a former drug addict, a real estate broker, a college student, and a married mother of two have in common? Nothing, or so I thought. Who would have imagined that God would make a prayer group as mismatched as ours the closest of friends? I almost didn't even go the Chicago Women's Conference--after all, being thrown together with five hundred strangers wasn't exactly my "comfort zone." But something happened that weekend to make us realize we had to hang together, and the "Yada Yada Prayer Group" was born! When I faced the biggest crisis of my life, God used my newfound Sisters to show me what it means to be just a sinner saved by grace.
All you need to do to enter is leave me a comment stating who your favorite author or favorite book is. This giveaway will be opened until tonight {8/26} at 11:00 PM EST. {please leave your e-mail address in your comment so I can contact you if and when you win! :) } The winner will be picked randomly by random.org and announced on Friday, August 27th.

Many Blessings to all who enter!

Gratituesday: The Artist

Photobucket
Join us for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers!

I admire the talents of many people.

The singer who is able to hit the highest note and sound beautiful while doing it.

The dancer who glides around the dance floor so graciously. {i have two left feet so this is something I have never been able to do...well, at least not graciously!}

The painter who can capture beauty in a single stroke.

The writer who touches so many with their words.

Although these talents are something to be proud of {and oh so beautiful} nothing comes close to the beauty of the Almighty Artist!

I mean, seriously, sit back and just look around you! There is beauty everywhere!

The blue sky on a hot summer day. {the sky never looks bluer than on a hot, hot day!}

The puffiness of the white clouds.

The green grass. The blue of the ocean water. Snow covered mountain tops.

Roses. Blueberries. Strawberries. Peaches.

Peacocks. Blue Birds. Cardinals. A Robin's Nest with the bluest eggs.

Zebras. Giraffes. Horses. Dogs.

Children. Me. You!

Our Heavenly Father is the master artist! Everything He has ever touched, or created, is simply beautiful!

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14

And we are his prize masterpiece! {wow!}

Take pride in that; in knowing that God cherishes you as His most awesome work!

I am thankful to have been made in my Father's image! Now, I must go and be a light unto all the world, shining bright for all to see just how beautiful my Father's love is! {and just how awesome of a masterpiece I am!}

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

Psalms of Praise

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I took a "bloggy" break last week! {in fact, I took a break from most of the internet for the week!}

It was something that was welcomed and very much needed!

I got some cleaning/organizing done. Played, a lot, with my kiddos. Made some delicious homemade suppers. And just "bummed" around! It was great!

I don't think we realize just how much time the internet takes up until we go a week without it!

But, it is nice to be back. Nice to sit here and write my thoughts out for whomever to read!

I am still reading through the Bible in 90 Days with Mom's Toolbox. I am a few days behind, but will get caught up. It is like I am on a roller coaster ride. I go from being caught up and even a few days ahead, to being a few days behind and then ahead again! But, I am just thankful and blessed to be reading my Bible, freely, and soaking in as much as I can from each days reading!

I love reading the Psalms. I couldn't wait to get to this book in my reading! It is one of my favorite books of the Bible! It is pretty much chapter after chapter of praise to my Father. I catch myself singing a lot while reading since a lot of the Psalms are what we sing in Church!

My favorite chapter in Psalms is the following,

Psalm 139

O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall[a] on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.
For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.
Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
 I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

Do you have a favorite Psalm? If so, I would love to hear what it is!

Praying for all the Bible in 90 Days participants. Whether you are ahead, on schedule, or behind, you are on the right track; spending time daily in God's Word!

Favorite Memories Friday: Moments in Time...

Does the smell of something ever take you back in time to a particular moment in your life?

It does for me!

The smell of cinnamon baking in the kitchen takes me back to Fall and the wonderful memories of pumpkin patches and Thanksgiving Day dinners.

Hot Dogs cooking on the grill always remind me of summer.

Coconut scented anything reminds me of lazy days at the beach!

The smell of wood burning always reminds me of camping. {and this is where most of my favorite childhood memories lie}

I absolutely loved camping as a kid. Running and playing outside all day.

Swimming, riding bikes, and playing with the other kids we met, was how most of our camping days were spent.

Sitting around the fire at night roasting marshmallows and hot dogs as well as making mountain pies was the absolute best part of camping. {in my opinion anyway!}

My husband did a different type of camping than I did while he was a child. His family did Revolutionary War re-enactment camping. It was very rustic...to say the least!

My family slept in a pop-up trailer while his slept in a canvas tent.

We took showers in the bathhouse while they never showered...the whole weekend! {well...except for maybe a sponge bath!}

We wore shorts, tanks, and tees, while they were in full bodied re-enactment clothing. {no matter how hot it was outside! And without a shower...boy did they stink!}

My sister and I would sit inside before bed coloring in our Lisa Frank coloring books, while he would be playing outside with his BB Guns and Drums!

Despite the many differences we had while camping as kids, being together as a family, laughing, talking, with no distractions, is what we both remember most {and liked most} about camping!

I pray, one day, when my kids are grown, and we are sitting around the dinner table, {or outdoor fire ring roasting marshmallows and hotdogs} a certain smell will trigger their memories of a wonderful, childhood, moment in time...

Trust

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Trust!

That little word is something that a lot of people struggle with!

Can I trust the doctor? the babysitter? the car mechanic? my best friend? my spouse? myself?

In todays society, it is very easy not to trust anyone!

We hear so much bad and not enough good! {which in return leads us not to trust!}

But, GOD has taken care of all of that! He wants us to trust in Him!

For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15

“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

He is our Rock! Our solid foundation! We can trust in Him!

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. 2 Samuel 22:3

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7

I don't know about you, but I am so thankful that I serve a loving, caring, God that I can trust with all things!

Will you trust in Him today?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Gratituesday: A Messy Kitchen!

Photobucket
Join us for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers!

Lately, we have been spending a lot of time at home! With two small children, this can be a stressful thing!

Having enough to do to occupy their time can drive a mama crazy!

PhotobucketOne thing that my daughter and I have been doing is baking! Everything from muffins, to Muddy Buddies, to Oatmeal Cookies! She loves it and it is a great way to get her used to working in the kitchen as well as a bonding time for just the two of us!

PhotobucketI am not sure if she has more fun baking, or making a mess of the kitchen?  My kitchen takes a beating while we are in it baking up delicious treats!

The mess that is left behind{for mom to clean, of course!}is all worth it! The laughter and fun we share make for wonderful memories! {and yummy treats to eat afterwards!}

I am thankful for the mess! Because, all too soon, she will be grown, making a mess in a kitchen of her own!

B90 Days/Completing Him Challenge

{If you are here from the Completing Him Challenge, you will see that post below.}

I love Jesus!
Yes I do!
love Jesus!
How about you?

PhotobucketI had this little cheer going through my mind the whole time I was reading throughout this week! I love my Heavenly Father and I just felt like shouting it out! He is an awesome God, but reading through His word these past 35 days has made that even more clear!

He has always provided for His people! He has always forgiven those who were worthy and repented of their sins! He has always loved...even when we were far from deserving His love! {If that doesn't make you want to shout His love from the rooftops, then I don't know what will!}

I say it over and over again how truly thankful and blessed I have been to be a part of this challenge!

Amy at Mom's Toolbox wanted us to share this week where we are spending time in our Father's presence! {What a cool idea!}

My goal when starting this challenge was to get up earlier than my kids and spend an hour with Jesus in the morning. Well...God had other plans, because my son has not let this happen at all! {he is awake right along with me! and what a distraction he is...but a cute one!}

One of my favorite places to read has been my back porch in the cool of the evening when the sun is just starting to set. The kiddos are sound asleep and I can just come into my Father's presence with no distractions! My husband has joined me and I have been reading aloud to him and that has made the time so much more enjoyable!

Another spot I find comfort in is my bed! When the day has just been too much, all I want is to snuggle up in my comfy, cozy, bed, and just "destress" in God's word!

Whenever I have just a few minutes here or there throughout the day, I can be found, on the couch, with my Bible in my hands!

No matter where, or when, you find the time to read His word and spend time in His presence, just do it! You will be so glad that you did!

{Please know and believe that I am praying for everyone taking part in this challenge! May God continue to help you and bless you as you reach your goal and to make time for Him and His word each and everyday!}
Photobucket
Photobucket The final week! I can't believe it!

I have truly enjoyed this challenge from Week #1!

I feel like my marriage has learned alot and grown a lot from this challenge. {and my husband and I have both been  blessed!}

This weeks topic is Kiss Him Like You Mean It!

My husband is a kisser! {and a good one at that!}

He has always been a very affectionate person. Always wanting to hug and kiss and just be right next to each other{me, not so much!}

Don't get me wrong, I love the attention, but I am just not as much of a "touchy feely" person as he is.

Has this caused problems for us within our marriage? Yes!

Is it something that we have discussed over and over again with each other? Yes!

I am learning to be more of what my husband needs and also more about  myself and my needs in the process.

Sex is so very important in a marriage and I don't think anyone truly realizes just how important until they are married and experiencing it all for themselves.

God put so much emphasis about sex within marriage that He wrote a whole book about it! {Song of Songs}

I am my lover's and my lover is mine.~ Song of Songs 6:3

How beautiful your sandaled feet, O prince's daughter! Your graceful legs are like jewels, the work of a craftsman's hands. Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies. Your breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle. Your neck is like an ivory tower. Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon by the gate of Bath Rabbim. Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon looking toward Damascus. Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel. Your hair is like royal tapestry; the king is held captive by its tresses. How beautiful you are and how pleasing, O love, with your delights! Your stature is like that of the palm, and your breasts like clusters of fruit.
 I said, "I will climb the palm tree; I will take hold of its fruit." May your breasts be like the clusters of the vine, the fragrance of your breath like apples, and your mouth like the best wine. May the wine go straight to my lover, flowing gently over lips and teeth. I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me. ~ Song of Songs 7:1-10

I know my husbands needs, desires, and requests are not something to be ignored. Through prayer and faithfulness I know I will become more of what he requests and desires of me. It is something that we have been praying about from the beginning and something that I already see God changing in me!

Thank you, again, so much Courtney for hosting this challenge! I have learned a lot and have been blessed from it! May God continue to do mighty works in you and continue to bless your marriage!

The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. 1 Corinthians 7:4

A New Look...

The purpose of my blog has been to be a representation of my life.

My life as a Child of God, as a Wife, and as a Mom!

I have had a few different templates and themes since starting to blog a few months back, but none that were really...me.

I have been searching the web for the past two days trying to find the perfect "theme" for my blog and...let me tell ya...I am exhausted from it!

Blogging is hard work! :)

Today, though, it all finally came together and clicked!

My current journey through life started when I said "I do"! The day I married my one and only...my best friend!

I felt it necessary to keep my blog clean and simple with just a header of us...on our wedding day...the day this journey truly began!

I wouldn't be on this journey of marriage and parenting if it weren't for that special day!

I am so very blessed to have married this man...God's perfect pick just for me...and to be on this exciting journey with him!

So, I hope you like what I've done with the place!

This place finally feels like me!

Word-Filled Wednesday: Discipline

Photobucket

If you refuse to discipline your children, it proves you don't love them; if you love your children, you will be prompt to discipline them. ~ Proverbs 13:24

This is so important to remember as a parent! It is hard at times {for me} to yell and discipline my children. I hate to see the hurt on their little faces.

But, at the same time I know that it is my job as their mama to lead them in the right direction by teaching them right from wrong.

Who better to teach and lead them than me?

My Gracious, Heavenly, Father blessed me with these children and instilled upon me the job of taking care of them and leading them to His kingdom!

I will discipline and use certain punishments when necessary. {even if it hurts me more than it hurts them!}

I want my children to grow up loving and respecting their earthly mother and father as well as their Heavenly Father!

Discipline = RESPECT! {you can't have one without the other!}

Gratituesday: Vacations!

Photobucket
Join us for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers!

Vacations are such a wonderful blessing!

Time to just relax with family!

No schedule! No phone! No TV! No computer!

Just the family...together!

I love it!

My family was blessed with being able to take a vacation a few weeks back!

We started the week off camping with both my parents and my husband's parents! It was a wonderful experience! The kids had a great time!

We rented two small, rustic, cabins at a wonderful campground! We had campfires everynight as well as campfire coffee every morning! {Mmm! My favorite type of coffee to drink!}

We visited Gettysburg National Park. What an experience! I only hope to be able to return when my kids are older so they can truly appreciate what took place there!

Photobucket

Next, we headed to Idlewild Park! It is a great family park! The kids are able to ride many of the rides such as the Whip, Ferris Wheel, and Paratrooper! Plus, they also have a waterpark, so it is like you are getting two parks in one! {So very cool!}

My favorite part of Idlewild has to be Story Book Forest!

Here is the Land of Once Upon a Time...
Step through the pages of this big Story Book...
And visit the people an places every child knows...
...and Loves.
Here dreams are real...
...and so are your Story Book friends.

Revisiting favorite nursery rhymes with my kids such as Mother Goose, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and Jack and Jill! Story Book Forest is a popular part of Idlewild. When you hear the mention of Idlewild Park, you can't help but think of Story Book Forest!

Photobucket

Our week ended with some fun times at my parents pool as well as a birthday cookout for my brother-in-law! {great way to end a vacation week with yummy cook-out food!}

Vacations, whether they are spent at some fancy beach-front resort, or in the comfort of your own home, are always a treat when they are spent with the ones God has blessed ya with!

I am so very thankful for the week I got to spend with my blessings!

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. ~ Matthew 6:21

For His Glory

{If you are here for the Completing Him Challenge, you will find that post below!}

The Bible in 90 Days Challenge is really starting to become a "challenge" for me.

I thought that after 20+ days of following a routine, that routine became a habit.

Well, not so much in my case!

I am slacking.

But, I will get caught up!

My problem has been my focus is elsewhere while reading! I am catching myself "wandering", a lot, while reading!

Praying for God's perfect peace this week as I prepare to get back on track!

I would like to share one particular verse that jumped out at me during my readings last week. It was in 2 Samuel 22:17-18

"He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me."

Our Awesome, Perfect, Heavenly, Father is always looking over us from aboveTaking care of us in the good times and bad! Rescuing us from the evilness that surrounds us!
How Awesome is our God?

{If you are like me and struggling to keep on track, please, hang in there! Do not give up! That is what Satan wants; for us to quit!  Leave me a comment so I can pray for you!}

My focus is still on the goal of completing this challenge while growing closer to my LORD!

{just wanted to add, I am not too far behind that there is no hope of getting back on track. I am 3 days behind schedule.}

So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. ~ Galations 6:9

PhotobucketIt is the 8th week of the Completeing Him Challenge!

I am learning a lot, and growing a lot, through this challenge!

This week Courtney wants us "to take some time to assess your husband's respect-o-meter. Ask him what sort of things you do that make him feel disrespected and respected. Work on weeding out disrespectful thoughts and attitudes and exchanging them for respectful ones."

When I asked my husband how I respect and disrespect him, this is what he had to say! {by the way, my husband is really enjoying this challenge as well! He has said to me that he loves hearing the new challenges and me asking him things that neither of us have ever really given much thought to otherwise!}

He told me that I respect him by taking care of the house and the kids. By having his work clothes always washed and ready for him to wear for the week as well as meals prepared on a regular basis!

I respect him with our finances. Trying to budget and spend the money that he works so hard for wisely!

I respect him by taking care of myself and trying to exercise and eat healthier!

The one way {and actually, the only way} he stated that I show disrespect is when I am not as "intimate" as he would like! This is something I have struggled with since we got married and is something that I continue to work on and pray about every, single, day!

I am so blessed and so thankful that God had me marry a man who respects me just as much, if not more, as I respect him!

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. ~ 1 Peter 4:8

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Photobucket

I did, however, discover Babywearing just in time. {and in fact, with the right child! God knew what He was doing. It was all a part of His plan!}

My son, from birth, has been very needy. Always wanting held. Would cry when you would put him down. Extremely attached to me. If I hadn't discovered Babywearing and all of it's benefits, I would have most likely gone insane! {not to mention my family would have never gotten fed, laundry never done, and the house a total mess!}

{If you have any questions about the safety and benefits of babywearing and  what type of carrier to choose, please email me or leave a comment below. I love talking about babywearing and helping moms out with this wonderful experience!}

But, I am happy to say that the reason some of these goals have had to take a "back seat" is because I have been spending so much time in His Word and loving every minute of it! Growing closer and closer to my Heavenly Father and soaking in all that He is wanting to tell me. {and I am needing to hear!}

I had the pleasure of winning the complete series of The Yada Yada Prayer Group books by Neta Jackson, a couple of weeks back, so I am offering my original copy of the first book, The Yada Yada Prayer Group, to one of you! {i don't really need two copies of the same book, although it is very good!}

The dancer who glides around the dance floor so graciously. {i have two left feet so this is something I have never been able to do...well, at least not graciously!}

The blue sky on a hot summer day. {the sky never looks bluer than on a hot, hot day!}

The puffiness of the white clouds.

The green grass. The blue of the ocean water. Snow covered mountain tops.

Roses. Blueberries. Strawberries. Peaches.

Peacocks. Blue Birds. Cardinals. A Robin's Nest with the bluest eggs.

Zebras. Giraffes. Horses. Dogs.

Children. Me. You!

Our Heavenly Father is the master artist! Everything He has ever touched, or created, is simply beautiful!

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14

And we are his prize masterpiece! {wow!}

Take pride in that; in knowing that God cherishes you as His most awesome work!

I am thankful to have been made in my Father's image! Now, I must go and be a light unto all the world, shining bright for all to see just how beautiful my Father's love is! {and just how awesome of a masterpiece I am!}

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

Psalms of Praise

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I took a "bloggy" break last week! {in fact, I took a break from most of the internet for the week!}

You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall[a] on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.
For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.
Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
 I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;

The smell of wood burning always reminds me of camping. {and this is where most of my favorite childhood memories lie}

I absolutely loved camping as a kid. Running and playing outside all day.

Swimming, riding bikes, and playing with the other kids we met, was how most of our camping days were spent.

Sitting around the fire at night roasting marshmallows and hot dogs as well as making mountain pies was the absolute best part of camping. {in my opinion anyway!}

My husband did a different type of camping than I did while he was a child. His family did Revolutionary War re-enactment camping. It was very rustic...to say the least!

My family slept in a pop-up trailer while his slept in a canvas tent.

We took showers in the bathhouse while they never showered...the whole weekend! {well...except for maybe a sponge bath!}

We wore shorts, tanks, and tees, while they were in full bodied re-enactment clothing. {no matter how hot it was outside! And without a shower...boy did they stink!}

We hear so much bad and not enough good! {which in return leads us not to trust!}

The mess that is left behind{for mom to clean, of course!}is all worth it! The laughter and fun we share make for wonderful memories! {and yummy treats to eat afterwards!}

I am thankful for the mess! Because, all too soon, she will be grown, making a mess in a kitchen of her own!

B90 Days/Completing Him Challenge

{If you are here from the Completing Him Challenge, you will see that post below.}

He has always provided for His people! He has always forgiven those who were worthy and repented of their sins! He has always loved...even when we were far from deserving His love! {If that doesn't make you want to shout His love from the rooftops, then I don't know what will!}

I say it over and over again how truly thankful and blessed I have been to be a part of this challenge!

Amy at Mom's Toolbox wanted us to share this week where we are spending time in our Father's presence! {What a cool idea!}

My goal when starting this challenge was to get up earlier than my kids and spend an hour with Jesus in the morning. Well...God had other plans, because my son has not let this happen at all! {he is awake right along with me! and what a distraction he is...but a cute one!}

{Please know and believe that I am praying for everyone taking part in this challenge! May God continue to help you and bless you as you reach your goal and to make time for Him and His word each and everyday!}
Photobucket
Photobucket The final week! I can't believe it!

I have truly enjoyed this challenge from Week #1!

I feel like my marriage has learned alot and grown a lot from this challenge. {and my husband and I have both been  blessed!}

This weeks topic is Kiss Him Like You Mean It!

My husband is a kisser! {and a good one at that!}

He has always been a very affectionate person. Always wanting to hug and kiss and just be right next to each other{me, not so much!}

God put so much emphasis about sex within marriage that He wrote a whole book about it! {Song of Songs}

I will discipline and use certain punishments when necessary. {even if it hurts me more than it hurts them!}

I want my children to grow up loving and respecting their earthly mother and father as well as their Heavenly Father!

Discipline = RESPECT! {you can't have one without the other!}

We rented two small, rustic, cabins at a wonderful campground! We had campfires everynight as well as campfire coffee every morning! {Mmm! My favorite type of coffee to drink!}

We visited Gettysburg National Park. What an experience! I only hope to be able to return when my kids are older so they can truly appreciate what took place there!

Photobucket

Next, we headed to Idlewild Park! It is a great family park! The kids are able to ride many of the rides such as the Whip, Ferris Wheel, and Paratrooper! Plus, they also have a waterpark, so it is like you are getting two parks in one! {So very cool!}

Photobucket

Our week ended with some fun times at my parents pool as well as a birthday cookout for my brother-in-law! {great way to end a vacation week with yummy cook-out food!}

{If you are here for the Completing Him Challenge, you will find that post below!}

{If you are like me and struggling to keep on track, please, hang in there! Do not give up! That is what Satan wants; for us to quit!  Leave me a comment so I can pray for you!}

My focus is still on the goal of completing this challenge while growing closer to my LORD!

{just wanted to add, I am not too far behind that there is no hope of getting back on track. I am 3 days behind schedule.}

When I asked my husband how I respect and disrespect him, this is what he had to say! {by the way, my husband is really enjoying this challenge as well! He has said to me that he loves hearing the new challenges and me asking him things that neither of us have ever really given much thought to otherwise!}
