Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure! {review and giveaway!}

This awesome book by author Ken Ham has been "popping" up all over the blogosphere these last couple of weeks and I have been blessed to receive one for review! {thank you New Leaf Publishing Group!}

PhotobucketDescription from Amazon: Hey, kids. Grab your explorer s cap and get ready for this one-of-a-kind Grand Canyon adventure. Charlie, a spirited monkey, and his triceratops buddy, Trike, set off with a burly one-eyed tour guide to hike deep into the Grand Canyon. But there s trouble on the trail when Charlie goes off on his own to dig for fossils. What s more, Charlie s convinced the tour guide is a thief, but any plans to catch him are quickly foiled. Once in the Canyon, Trike does his best to explain to his friend the worldwide Flood and why we can trust the Bible. Finally, with the tour guide s help, Charlie understands the truth in a way that will change his life forever.

When I received the book in the mail, I could not wait to open it and show it to my kids. This is just the type of story I knew that they would both enjoy!

Photobucket

The pages are filled with wonderful illustrations and innovative discoveries that make you excited for the next page.  From Charlie's Green Notebook, to the maps and discovery flaps along the way, there is something for kids of all ages to enjoy from this book!

Photobucket

The story itself is wonderfully told to captivate the minds of little ones and to help them understand the powers of our Amazing God in such a cute way!

PhotobucketWe open the book and first meet Charlie, a curious, little, monkey, getting ready to begin his adventure for the day: a trip to the Grand Canyon. He hops on the bus and meets up with his friend, Trike, the triceratops. {my daughters favorite character!}

The author begins to talk about the Flood and how the Grand Canyon used to be covered with water. Charlie starts to question Trike about the truth behind the flood, but Trike uses biblical proof to answer all his questions. That is the greatest part about the book. How the author brings those questions of evolution to the surface and proves them wrong with biblical answers and proof about creation!

Along the way, they find fossils and sea creatures as well as rainbow trout, rattlesnakes, and squirrels. Charlie even gets into a bit of trouble when he falls into the raging waters and learns a little lesson in faith and trust when offered help from Captain Wes. {someone he didn't trust from the beginning!}

At the end of the story, to wrap everything up, Charlie questions if the Bible is in fact even true. Trike's response was, "We have to trust the One Who gave people the Bible". Talk about a lesson in faith. Even as an adult, I learned a little from this story about faith and know that my children will continue to keep bits and pieces with them the more we read it!

I highly recommend this book. My kids loved it and so did I! This is the first in a series and I cannot wait for the next one to come out.

Out of this World!

Photobucket

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. ~ John 15:18-19

He Loves us! He has come to save us! We are His and His alone! I will not let this world {satan} have me, my family, or my friends! I am going to the place He has prepared for me! {John 14:3}

Let the world hate me! My Jesus loves me enough that I don't need this world!!!

The Memories We Make!

This weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival. Last year was our first year attending and my husband said, as we were leaving, "we need to make this a yearly tradition". We enjoyed it that much!

Photobucket

They have a variety of fun and unique things to see and do. Shows like a fire breather and juggler, jousting, pirate shows, and a tea party/storytime show for the kids. They also have rides, games, and food. LOTS of good food!

The neat thing about the rides was that they were all powered by you! The "pirate ship" ride was operated by tugging and pulling on a rope in the center of the ship! While you tugged/pulled on that rope, it made the ship swing back and forth.

Photobucket

Other rides like, the butterfly merry-go-round that you see pictured below, are operated by a turn dial that a man pushes around.

Photobucket

One of my daughters favorite games was the bow and arrows. She loved it and did pretty good I might add. {so good that my husband went out to walmart the very next day and bought her a little bow and arrow set to "practice" on!}

Photobucket

And, I can't forget to mention the food! My husbands favorite item was the turkey leg! {look at that thing!}
I enjoyed the sausage sandwich with kraut and veggies while the kids munched on chicken fingers and fries.

Photobucket

The memories made that day are ones that are not soon to be forgotten!

Thank you Heavenly Father for wonderful memories made with family! And, thank you, LORD,  for my family! Amen!

I am linking up at Heavenly Homemakers for Gratituesday! What are you grateful for today?

Inside These Walls...

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. ~ Psalm 23:5

Photobucket

I've spent this week reflecting. I have a lot to be thankful for. This is something I will never get tired of expressing or discussing. My children are happy and healthy. Their laughter and joy "overflows my cup"! My husband rocks! He is a great provider and father and the best thing about him...he always makes me laugh!

This world is filled with so much hurting and pain. It is so hard to let it suck you in. But, in the midst of it all, I love walking through the doors of my small home in the suburbs and being embraced with the love it holds! {all the love it holds!}

I have a saying on my wall that says: "Family: One of God's Masterpieces."  We embrace all that God has for us in the beauty of His creation outside our front doors, but what about the beauty behind those doors? Tucked away inside those four walls of your home? Talk about a work of art!

Photobucket

I need to slow down and start enjoying all that my little home has to offer. I need to explore my creativity with my kids and watch their imaginations flow. I need to turn off the TV and Twitter and just sit with my husband, on a Tuesday night, and simply talk! As I get older, and somewhat wiser, I am realizing more and more everday just what is truly important. My family is second on the list, right after my Heavenly Father!

My prayer would be for you to spend some quality time with your family this weekend and watch your cup overflow!

We love because he first loved us. ~ 1 John 4:19

He is ALWAYS here!

{If you are here from Callapidder Days for the Fall Into Reading 2010 Challenge, that post is below!}

"Never will I leave you nor forsake you." ~ Hebrews 13:5

Do you feel Him? {He's there!}

Do you hear Him?  {He's speaking to you!}

When do you call on Him the most? When you are happy? Sad? In trouble? Lonely?

Isn't it comforting to know that no matter what your cry may be, He is always there...listening! And He wants to help lead you and guide you towards His kingdom and the plan He has for you. {Jer. 29:11}

Gratituesday: The Cross

With everything that goes on from day in and day out, the only thing that remains the same is God's love for me. He sent His One and Only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins; for my salvation; and I am so undeserving and so unworthy of this gift! But, God still sacrificed His Son, Jesus, for you and for me! I can't think of a greater gift!

I love knowing that because of God's unselfishness and unconditional love for me, I can come to the feet of the cross and lay all my burden, all my hurts and fears there, and Jesus will take care of it all!
“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens” (Psalm 68:19).

“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

I can come, asking for forgiveness of my wrongdoings and my slate will be wiped clean! He forgives us and then forgets it even happened!

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

All He is asking from us in return is a love relationship with Him. To give our whole heart, mind, body, and spirit, to Him. He loves us so much. Jesus wants us to talk to Him daily, hourly, every chance we get! He wants us to come to Him when we are happy or sad or if we just want to "chit-chat"! He doesn't care. He just loves spending time with us!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Today, I am thankful for the cross and my freedom from sin in Christ Jesus! I am thankful for my love relationship with my Heavenly Father and His Son! I am thankful for the gift of His Word and how, by reading it, I am growing closer to Him! I am thankful for all He has done for me in my life and all that I know He is going to continue to do!

Photobucket

I ask that if you are reading this and have not yet asked Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour, would you please consider doing that now by praying this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."

If you prayed that prayer for the very first time I congratulate you and welcome you into the Family of Christ!{Would you please contact me at the email address given above so that I may pray for you!} You are going to be amazed at all the wonderful things our Heavenly Father has in store for you!

{Please stop by Heavenly Homemakers to read what others are Grateful/thankful for on this Gratituesday!}

Why?

{ if you are here from the B90Days check-in, that post is below! but feel free to read both! }

Why?

Do you ever ask God that question...why?

I have found myself asking Him that question a lot these past couple of days.

"Why did you let this happen?"

"Why didn't you do something to help stop it from happening?"

"Why couldn't you perform a miracle, a healing, for them?"

"Why do bad things happen to good people?" {I actually found the answer to this question in Romans 3:10-18 while searching the web this morning. It says: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” }

We are all sinners. I understand that, but why do some people go through more hardships than others?

A friend of my just went through an awful loss. A loss I have never {thankfully} experienced. A loss noone should ever have to experience, but they do.

This friend had such an enormous amount of faith and peace surrounding her whole situation. Faith that I don't think I would have had if I were in the same situation. I truly believed God was going to see her through and perform many miracles in her life. I truly believed, that because of her faith, it was all going to turn out well.

But, the unimaginable still happened.

Why?

This is a question that I believe God will never give us a clear answer to here on earth. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. It is all part of His plan! "For I know the plans I have for you." says the Lord. (Jeremiah 29:11)

I believe He also allows these things to happen to draw us closer to Him. To need Him in ways we never thought we would. ”Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

He wants complete and total trust, from us! He doesn't want us to worry about all the Why's in life. He has it all under control.

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. (Psalm 55:22)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

I still may not fully understand why she had to suffer such a devastating loss. I may not understand why so many children are suffering in this world. {aren't they the innocent ones?}  But I do know that God is in control. He has a perfect will and plan for her/their life. He doesn't want any of us to fall away from Him during times of suffering, but to draw nearer to Him {and to draw nearer to those that are suffering and need comforted the most!}. He will provide us with comfort and peace like we never dreamed or imagined!

I will lift her up in prayer as well as many others who are suffering through the why's in life. As a sister in Christ, it is my duty to lift my fellow brothers and sisters up in prayer. God still hears our prayers. He will bring peace and healing to their lives. He loves them unconditionally. Our God is awesome. Let us never forget that!

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:22)

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)
Dear Gracious Father, you know the hurting and the pain my friend is going through. I pray that you will bring her peace and comfort. Help her and her family to feel your warm, loving, arms wrapped ever so tightly around them. I pray that her faith has remained the same; so very strong! I pray she finds comfort in the prayers and encourging words and acts of love from her friends and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that you will help me to not question you when I see or hear of the awful things being done to those that seem so undeserving of it. Instead, help me to turn to my knees and lift them up in prayer. To turn to you instead of away from you. Thank you Jesus for loving us still and always offering us peace, healing, and love. In Your Precious, Holy, Name, I pray, Amen!

PhotobucketI cannot believe that in TWO WEEKS I will have read through the entire Bible! I am excited and thrilled to be so close to reaching my goal.

Reading the entire Bible is something I have always desired to do as a Christian, but never succeeded!

I am still a little behind, but since putting my new reading plan into affect, I am catching up and will finish on time! {woo-hoo!}

Congrats to those of you who have already completed! What an accomplishment! I am sure you  have grown so much in your relationship with Jesus Christ, just as I have!

To those of you who are moving right along and plan to finish on October 2nd, I can't wait to cross that finish line with you in two, very, short, weeks!

To read where others are in this challenge, or to congratulate those who have already finished, head on over to Mom's Toolbox!

I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! ~ Deuteronomy 32:3

Five Wonderfully, Blessed, Years!

It's always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last forever
But now that I have found you, I believe
That a miracle has come
When God sends the perfect one
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I've never been so sure of anything in my life

Photobucket

I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must have been thinking about me

Photobucket

I promise that wherever you may go
Wherever life may lead you
With all my heart I'll be there too
From this moment on I want you to know
I'll let nothing come between us
And I will love the ones you love
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I've never been so sure of anything in my life

Photobucket

He made the sun He made the moon
To harmonize in perfect tune
One can't move without the other
They just have to be together
And that is why I know it's true
You're for me and I'm for you
Cause my world just can't be right
Without you in my life

Photobucket

He must've heard every prayer I've been praying
Yes He knew everything I would need
When God made you
When dreams come true
When God made you
He must've been thinking about me
                                                                - Newsong, When God Made You

Five years ago today, I married my wonderful husband. The words displayed above were the words to one of our wedding songs.

Noone ever said marriage was easy and ours certainly hasn't been, but we are thankful for the trials. They have made us stronger and have allowed for us to fall deeper in love. We have grown and matured together as husband and wife and as parents. I can't think of a better person to be on this journey with. He is an amazing, hard working, husband and father. He does everything he can to provide for us. I can't begin to express my gratitude to him and to God for blessing my life with his. Isn't it amazing how God has picked out the perfect spouse for us before we were even born? Wow! I can't begin to grasp the awesomeness of our God! His love for me is amazing!

Thank you Father God for my husband. Thank you for loving me so much that you created this man, just for me. To love me and support me and to be my absolute best friend. I thank you for these past five years and look forward to the next 5, 10, 15+ years with him by my side. In your precious name, Amen!

I love you babe! Happy Anniversary!

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. ~ Ephesians 5:1-2

Gratituesday: Coffee

I don't know how I would survive somedays without my morning cup 'o joe!

Photobucket

Opening the lid to my can of coffee and having the aroma surround me just warms my soul! {and opens my eyes}

As moms, somedays we just need a little something to help get us going.

If I can't get it at home due to a busy morning, well then I just swing by one of the local drive-thrus and grab a cup!

Photobucket

Wherever I get it, I just know it better be steaming hot and full of sweet flavor. {can't stand bitter coffee!}

So, today, I am grateful for coffee! Thank you Jesus for the coffee bean!

Honesty

An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. ~ Proverbs 24:26

When I decided to join in on the Bible in 90 Days Challenge, I truly believed that I would be able to finish, the entire Bible, in just 90 days! I started out strong; was always right on schedule or a day ahead, but then it happened. I started to slack and get lazy in my readings. I started to get a few days behind. And now, well I have to be honest. I am 18 days behind!

And while I am being honest, I have to admit that I started to read for all the wrong reasons. I wanted to be "part of the group" and stay on track with everyone and I wasn't reading to learn or grow in my relationship. I was reading for "bragging rights". I need this relationship and closeness with God more than I need the "bragging rights".

I started off praying that this would set me in the right direction for a daily quiet time with  my Heavenly Father. And while it has done that to some extent, I am still not satisfied with myself and I know I need to work a lot harder! {I make time for everything else in my day, why not HIM?}

So I have decided to start fresh. To wipe my slate clean and to pray away my guilt. I felt God calling me to do this from the beginning and I still believe He wants to see me finish.

I figured out that if I read 24 pages a day instead of the normal 12, I will still finish by October 2nd! This goal is still reachable. I have not yet entered the point of no return.

For those of you who are still in the race and right where you should be, I congratulate you! What an awesome achievement!

For those of you who may be behind, like myself, do. not. give. up! You can do this if you put your heart and soul into it!

I am asking for prayers as I continue on. Can you do that for me fellow B90 readers? I promise to continue to pray for all of you as well.

I love Jesus. I love His Word; and I want to grow closer to Him through it!

{The following verse has been my encouragement through this whole challenge. I have quoted it before and will most likely quote it again!}

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~ Galatians 6:9

Living Within Our Means

"Imagine what this world would be like if everyone lived within their means."  Those were the words I heard coming from my husbands mouth while we were driving this past weekend.

I have to say, they have stuck with me all week! We know of a lot of people who are in huge amounts of unnecessary debt. When I say unnecessary, I mean they used credit to buy things that they just did not need to buy! Thankfully, my husband and I are not in crazy debt, but we do have a few unnecessary bills for things that we could have lived without. {we are working on being debt free by March 20, 2011...my hubby's 30th b-day!}

I believe that there are some debts that are necessary and are, in some instances, hard to avoid.

Mortgage
Car
School Loans

We need those things and, unless you are a billionaire, usually do not have the cash to buy it outright. So, you have to finance. Those are necessary debts.

And, sadly, sometimes we run into health situations where insurance does not cover all the expenses and you are left with a bill. That is necessary debt.

I just can't understand the debt people put themselves into when they spend and spend and they need to work and work just so they can spend and spend more and more on things that they just do. not. need! Then, they are working so much to pay for all these things, that they should not have bought in the first place, that they are never home to even enjoy them!!

What will it take for people to find happiness in the simplest of things?

Being a stay-at-home-mom and living on just one income, my husband and I have had to make some sacrifices. I can't tell you the last time I bought myself a new pair of jeans or a handbag! But, these decisions were the right ones for us. And, I have to say, we are happier. We are spending more time, together, as a family! And, we are having fun discovering new places to go that are either cheap, or free! Yes, some months go by and it gets a little frustrating when the bank account is bare {i am human afterall!} but I wouldn't trade my life in for anything.

I will never understand the need for more stuff that you can't afford. I am appreciative of the things God has blessed me with.

I have a warm, cozy, safe, roof over my head.
I am always able to put good, healthy, meals on the table to feed my family.
I have a safe, reliable, car to drive.
We always are dressed in clothing that fits and is clean and not old and dirty. Grant it, the clothes we wear may not be the latest style, but they are clothes none the less and I think we are rockin' in our own style!
My husband has a job that he loves and that provides for us and allows for me to stay home and be a mama to my children full time.
We are healthy and free of any awful, life threatening, disease! {that is enough right there!}

Would I be lying if I said I never coveted something that a friend of mine or someone I have known has gotten? Yes! Of course I would love to go on fancy vacations and have a beautiful, new home, or a pricey handbag. My husband would love a new motorcycle! But, these are all just things. And we are learning, slowly, to humble ourselves and be thankful for the things we do have. God has a plan for our life and I know the blessings are going to be abundant. We just need to wait on him! I have faith that it will all come in His perfect time!

So, try living within your means and being thankful for all the things He has already given to you. I bet you will come up surprised at just how much you already have! Once we start to appreciate the little things that is when I believe He will bless us with bigger things!

A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper. ~ Proverbs 28:25

A kind-hearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth. ~ Proverbs 11:16

Thankful Thursday: Books {a continuation from tuesday's post}

{I posted on Tuesday about being grateful for our library! Today is a follow-up post from our visit to the library and about the books we signed out and the fun we had!}

I am so excited that My Busy Bee loves books as much as I do. I cannot wait until she is old enough to start reading chapter books with me. But, for now, I am really enjoying reading to her.

Whenever I mention that we are heading to the library for the afternoon, the first thing My Busy Bee asks me is, "Mama, where is my bag?" {meaning her library bag}

Photobucket

In support of our local library, I bought her this bag, for $1.00, and she loves it. It is her "library companion"! She loves to fill it with books to take home.  {and fill it she does!}

Our library has all kinds of fun things to do. {other than sit and read great books!}

There is the fish tank to look at, which My Little Man just loved. A dollhouse. Blocks and toy cars. Puppets and puzzles galore. There is enough to keep my kids busy for hours. {which is great when I want to just sit there and read!} They play, I browse the shelves or sit and read. It is a win/win situation!

Photobucket
Photobucket

We came home with 9 Dinosaur books and 1 ballerina book. {since she is starting ballet/dance classes on Monday! :)} The bag was so heavy, she could barely carry it. Unfortunately, the book(s) mama wanted were already checked out. {bummer!}

Photobucket

And you'll never guess what we did that night? We read every. single. book!

Photobucket

Now, I guess this just means we are due for another trip to the library for more books. {aww man!} :)

In case you were wondering, here are the 10 books we grabbed for home:

Pteranodon: The Life Story of a Pterosaur by: Ruth Ashby
How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon? by: Jane Yolen and Mark Teague
How Do Dinosaurs Go To School? by: Jane Yolen and Mark Teague
How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? by: Jane Yolen and Mark Teague
Dinosaurs Love Underpants by: Claire Freedman and Ben Cort
No T.Rex in the Library by: Toni Buzzeo
Gnash, Gnaw, DINOSAUR! by Tony Mitton and Lynne Chapman
Rumble, Roar, DINOSAUR! by Tony Mitton and Lynne Chapman
Dinosaur Stomp! by: Paul Stickland
Belinda Begins Ballet by: Amy Young

I recommend all of them if you have a little one who loves Dinosaurs! I even enjoyed reading them. They contained interesting facts about the Dinosaurs told in a cute way for young children to enjoy!

Thank you Heavenly Father for the gift of reading. Thank you that it allows for my children to use their imaginations and to learn in a fun way. I pray that the words they may read from the pages of any book will always be pleasing to you and glorify your name. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure! {review and giveaway!}

This awesome book by author Ken Ham has been "popping" up all over the blogosphere these last couple of weeks and I have been blessed to receive one for review! {thank you New Leaf Publishing Group!}

PhotobucketWe open the book and first meet Charlie, a curious, little, monkey, getting ready to begin his adventure for the day: a trip to the Grand Canyon. He hops on the bus and meets up with his friend, Trike, the triceratops. {my daughters favorite character!}

Along the way, they find fossils and sea creatures as well as rainbow trout, rattlesnakes, and squirrels. Charlie even gets into a bit of trouble when he falls into the raging waters and learns a little lesson in faith and trust when offered help from Captain Wes. {someone he didn't trust from the beginning!}

He Loves us! He has come to save us! We are His and His alone! I will not let this world {satan} have me, my family, or my friends! I am going to the place He has prepared for me! {John 14:3}

Photobucket

One of my daughters favorite games was the bow and arrows. She loved it and did pretty good I might add. {so good that my husband went out to walmart the very next day and bought her a little bow and arrow set to "practice" on!}

Photobucket

And, I can't forget to mention the food! My husbands favorite item was the turkey leg! {look at that thing!}

This world is filled with so much hurting and pain. It is so hard to let it suck you in. But, in the midst of it all, I love walking through the doors of my small home in the suburbs and being embraced with the love it holds! {all the love it holds!}

{If you are here from Callapidder Days for the Fall Into Reading 2010 Challenge, that post is below!}

"Never will I leave you nor forsake you." ~ Hebrews 13:5

Do you feel Him? {He's there!}

Do you hear Him?  {He's speaking to you!}

When do you call on Him the most? When you are happy? Sad? In trouble? Lonely?

Isn't it comforting to know that no matter what your cry may be, He is always there...listening! And He wants to help lead you and guide you towards His kingdom and the plan He has for you. {Jer. 29:11}

{Please stop by Heavenly Homemakers to read what others are Grateful/thankful for on this Gratituesday!}

Why?

{ if you are here from the B90Days check-in, that post is below! but feel free to read both! }

Why?

Do you ever ask God that question...why?

I have found myself asking Him that question a lot these past couple of days.

"Why did you let this happen?"

"Why didn't you do something to help stop it from happening?"

"Why couldn't you perform a miracle, a healing, for them?"

"Why do bad things happen to good people?" {I actually found the answer to this question in Romans 3:10-18 while searching the web this morning. It says: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” }

I am still a little behind, but since putting my new reading plan into affect, I am catching up and will finish on time! {woo-hoo!}

Photobucket

Opening the lid to my can of coffee and having the aroma surround me just warms my soul! {and opens my eyes}

As moms, somedays we just need a little something to help get us going.

If I can't get it at home due to a busy morning, well then I just swing by one of the local drive-thrus and grab a cup!

Photobucket

Wherever I get it, I just know it better be steaming hot and full of sweet flavor. {can't stand bitter coffee!}

I started off praying that this would set me in the right direction for a daily quiet time with  my Heavenly Father. And while it has done that to some extent, I am still not satisfied with myself and I know I need to work a lot harder! {I make time for everything else in my day, why not HIM?}

{The following verse has been my encouragement through this whole challenge. I have quoted it before and will most likely quote it again!}

I have to say, they have stuck with me all week! We know of a lot of people who are in huge amounts of unnecessary debt. When I say unnecessary, I mean they used credit to buy things that they just did not need to buy! Thankfully, my husband and I are not in crazy debt, but we do have a few unnecessary bills for things that we could have lived without. {we are working on being debt free by March 20, 2011...my hubby's 30th b-day!}

We are healthy and free of any awful, life threatening, disease! {that is enough right there!}

Thankful Thursday: Books {a continuation from tuesday's post}

{I posted on Tuesday about being grateful for our library! Today is a follow-up post from our visit to the library and about the books we signed out and the fun we had!}

I am so excited that My Busy Bee loves books as much as I do. I cannot wait until she is old enough to start reading chapter books with me. But, for now, I am really enjoying reading to her.

Whenever I mention that we are heading to the library for the afternoon, the first thing My Busy Bee asks me is, "Mama, where is my bag?" {meaning her library bag}

Photobucket

In support of our local library, I bought her this bag, for $1.00, and she loves it. It is her "library companion"! She loves to fill it with books to take home.  {and fill it she does!}

Our library has all kinds of fun things to do. {other than sit and read great books!}

Photobucket
Photobucket

We came home with 9 Dinosaur books and 1 ballerina book. {since she is starting ballet/dance classes on Monday! :)} The bag was so heavy, she could barely carry it. Unfortunately, the book(s) mama wanted were already checked out. {bummer!}

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” ~ Psalm 143:10
