Since I have been getting a little more time to read lately {fall does that for me...allows me to slow down a bit} I have decided to take part in more book memes and share with all of you what I have been reading and what I hope to read soon!
What's On Your Nightstand is a book carnival hosted by 5 Minutes for Books. Once a month {the last tuesday of every month actually} you link-up stating what you would like to have read in the next month.
I am actually pretty impressed with myself. I finished three books in the month of October. I can't tell you the last time I finished one book in a month, let alone three! This is a big accomplishment for me and I am excited! :)
In October, I read, Betsy-Tacy and Tib by Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill by Maud Hart Lovelace and my ARC copy of Amy Inspired by Bethany Pierce. I enjoyed all three of these titles and recommend them to all of you!
Here is my list for the month of November. {It is also part of my Fall Into Reading Challenge!}
So, that's it folks. My first What's On Your Nightstand Post. Hoping I have good things to report when I check in next month!

"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." ~ Isaiah 55:12
Congrats on finishing 3 books in one month. I remember reading Betsy and Tacy books. Good stuff. Hope you continue to enjoy The Help. I read it in only a week, which I NEVER do. It was compelling. Thanks for sharing your list! This is a fun meme that once I started, I never left.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I'm going to be the last reader out there to get to The Help!! GAA!
ReplyDeleteLove ALL your books and have an interest in each one. Congrats on your reading progress!
Yup- I LOVED The Help, and it is an incredibly thoughtful read and one that is loved by many.
ReplyDeleteI also read Snow Flower and really enjoyed it, actually better than other Lisa See books that I've read. I hope you enjoy both of these!

Loved taking a peek at your list! Hope you enjoy The Help as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteWelcome!
ReplyDeleteI did zip right through the Help, so I predict you won't be able to put it down.
Oh, loved The Help. And I agree with Dawn that Snow Flower is the best of See's books, I really enjoyed it. Happy reading!

I'm hearing more and more good things about The Help and really aught to pick up a copy soon!
ReplyDeleteI read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and liked it a lot although I prefered Memoirs of a Geisha I think.
Catching Moondrops looks very intriguing - I like the cover design! Might have to look into that one!
I can't wait to get to The Help. Catching Moondrops was a goo one too, hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading the first three Betsy-Tacy books with my daughter. We loved them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I'm on Goodreads too! :)
ReplyDeleteThree is certainly an accomplishment--especially when you've got two little ones around. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan looks interesting--and absolutely EVERYONE says that The Help is great (I guess I'll get around to it SOMEDAY.) Glad you decided to join us today!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Nightstand! :) I hope you'll join in every month.
ReplyDeleteI've heard really good things about The Help but haven't read it yet. Lisa See sounds like a very familiar name. I'll have to dig through my records and see if I've read anything by her.
Looks like a great list! I hope you have a very enjoyable reading month!
