A Dream Come True

{this is Emma's birthday post from last year. everything still rings true today which is why I decided to re-post it. the only thing that has changed is her age, which is five!! I can't believe it!!}

Early on I knew what God's plan was for me.
While others talked of dreams to be a teacher, nurse, or veterinarian, I dreamt of a husband, babies and a house with a white picket fence.
A dream that started for me as a litte girl, four years ago came true, when a sweet, bundle of pink came into my world!

Today, she turns four!
She is as beautiful inside as she is out!
Her smile and laughter are enough to change any bad mood into a good one.
We have learned and grown together, her and I.
Her in age-me in my abilities and maturity as a wife and mother.

She makes me proud and gives my heart so much joy.
Her wit and humor mimic her father so-resembling him from the moment she entered this world.
What an amazing four years it has been!
I am excited to see God's plan in her life continue to unfold the older she gets, but at the same time, I am so very sad to see my liitle girl grow.

"Stay, Little One, stay. Love's a deep wound and what is a mother without a child and why can't I hold onto now forever and her here and me here and why does time snatch away a heart I don't think mine can beat without? Why do we all have to grow old? Why do we have to keep saying goodbye? She is leaving me. She is growing up and moving away from me..." - Ann Voskamp One Thousand Gifts

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. ~ Psalm 139:13-14
