Gratituesday: The Library
Join us for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers!
I love books! I will say it time and time again! I love the smell and the feel of books in my hands. I love seeing them lined up filling the shelves of my bookshelf. {weird? yeah, probably!} So, it is only right that one of my favorite places to go is the Library! {and I am slowly instilling that same love into my children.}
My kids love the library! They get to play with puzzles and puppets and look at all the books they can possibly imagine!
Storytimes are so much fun; hearing some of their favorites being read aloud to them. {by someone other than mom!}
But, their favorite part, as well as mine, is getting to take some books home to "borrow" and bring back later for another fun day at the library! {we sound so geeky...but I love it! }
My Busy Bee has a "library bag" that she brings with her to the library and fills it with all the books she wants to take home. She picks some for her and some for her little brother as well.
And the absolute best part of all this is: it's FREE! {and for this stay at home mom, that is just great!} There are not too many places left to take your kids where they have a blast and it costs you nothing!
Today we are venturing to the library and I do not know who is more excited...me or the kids? {I will make sure to write a post about all the fun books we brought home!}

Great post, Amy! I totally agree about libraries – they’re awesome! When I was a child, I couldn’t decide for awhile if I wanted to be a teacher or a librarian. Teacher won out, but I HAD to create a home library (organized with a simplified Dewey Decimal system) as well as go to the public library regularly.

We love, love, love the library!
ReplyDeleteI have to get library bags for my kids, I don't know why I never thought of that, what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWe love the library! I've been using it a lot to check out books recommended for homeschooling. Then, I get to "preview" them for free and decide if they're worth investing in!
ReplyDeleteWe visit the library once a week - and have since my girls were very young! Now they also have library time at their school, so they bring home even more books to read! And that's a good thing :)
ReplyDeleteI have planned to make the library our book ends to our week. Being a former teacher Librarian I feel bad that we haven't joined sooner. I am looking forward to this!
