{trust}

In the stillness, you will find it.
Silence-and you will hear it.

I have been searching for clarity and direction when in reality I should have been learning to trust.

Trusting in the One who has my life perfectly planned. {Jeremiah 29:11}

If I trust in Him and in Him alone, then everything will already have been clear to start with, right? No need to seek out clarity and direction.

But, why am I lacking in trust? Why is it so hard to trust in Him?

Is it because I can't see Him? But, I do...in the eyes of my children and in the smile of my husband. I see Him at work in their lives and therefore in mine!

But, that is not enough.

He is the creator of the universe. He brought the Israelites out of Egypt; sent a ram in place of Abraham's son; gave Noah the ark and the promise of the rainbow. He sent His only Son to die for me!

But, trust Him? How can I?

How can I be sure that it will all work out?

When will the worry stop?

When will His desires become my desires? {and not me wanting it the other way around!}

When will I just learn to trust!

When I sit in stillness and seek Him.
When it's silent and I learn to listen.

The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place." In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God, who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go. ~ Deuteronomy 1:30-33

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. ~ Psalm 9:10

  1. I've thought this way before...and then have reasoned out to - "if I cannot trust God, who then? Myself? Other flawed humans?"

    The choice is not only whether or not to trust God, but truly whether or not to trust at all.

    God is the only one who will never let you down. He is the only one you can afford to trust without heartbreak!

    Have a blessed day, friend!

  2. It is hard to give up control and complete trust, but He has never steered me wrong and won't. He has the big picture !:)

  3. Absolutely beautiful. I struggle with this so much more than I did even a few years ago. The older I get and the further away I am from the desires of my heart, the weaker my faith and trust in Him is. I want to get back to where I knew He was there and was working for my good.

    Thank you for this.

  4. Trusting is so difficult and yet one of the basic things that God has commanded us to do! I really think that by struggling through these issues we grow in our faith, which helps us trust God, which strengthens our love for Him!
