Word-Filled Wednesday {Acts 5:42}

Photobucket

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. ~ Acts 5:42

Saturday morning this past weekend, we were visited by a Jehovah's Witness. We kindly listened to what she had to say, told her that we were born-again Christians, and simply sent her on her way.

But her visit got me thinking-how many Christians go door-to-door proclaiming the Good News of God's Word?

I myself have never done it and I've never had a Christian knock on my door sharing the Love of Jesus Christ!

Then this morning I open my email and find this verse.

..."from house to house, they never stopped teaching the good news that Jesus is the Christ!" ~ Acts 5:42 {emphasis mine}

Makes one think...

How many more lives would be changed and souls to be saved if Christians went door-to-door sharing His love? His Word? His saving grace?

  5. I loved the picture and the sobering thoughts of a weak area in my life. What a great verse and reminder to be His witnesses. Thanks for sharing.

  9. So true! They have more devotion to their religion than most Christians do in proclaiming the true Word of God. Definitely lots to think about!

  10. admittedly I've never stopped to think about that, we've never been visited!! Might have something to do with the fact that we always live right next door to the church!

    I'm going to ask my husband what his toughts are - good discussion for dinner tonight!

  12. Your right...we must move beyond the church steps and out into the world. Thats the reason any of us are even here-to go to all the nations and spread the gospel!:)

  13. I too did much more open air work at beaches and camp grounds, singing the gospel and speaking to people around us. We would go out to the streets in open air meetings as they were called and had an organ on a trailer or used guitars...it was a very special time of outreach. For all their wizz bang musical ability we do not see people sharing freely on the streets any more......Have music will have concert etc. Sometimes I grieve over the commercialization of Christian life.

  14. Your right if we only followed what God asks us to do "go out and make deciples" then we'd be seeing believers grow by the thousands! Like your blog and I'm going to follow you.
