What's On Your Nightstand {1st link-up!}

Since I have been getting a little more time to read lately {fall does that for me...allows me to slow down a bit} I have decided to take part in more book memes and share with all of you what I have been reading and what I hope to read soon!

What's On Your Nightstand is a book carnival hosted by 5 Minutes for Books. Once a month {the last tuesday of every month actually} you link-up stating what you would like to have read in the next month.

I am actually pretty impressed with myself. I finished three books in the month of October. I can't tell you the last time I finished one book in a month, let alone three! This is a big accomplishment for me and I am excited! :)

In October, I read, Betsy-Tacy and Tib by Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill by Maud Hart Lovelace and my ARC copy of Amy Inspired by Bethany Pierce. I enjoyed all three of these titles and recommend them to all of you!

Here is my list for the month of November. {It is also part of my Fall Into Reading Challenge!}

The HelpI just started reading The Help by Kathrynn Stockett last night. It is so very good right from the start. I am definately hooked! It is 451 pages long, and not something that you can just breeze right through. {I am already noticing this!} I am hoping to find the time to sit and devour it so I can fit a few more books in this month!

Snow Flower and the Secret FanI am also hoping to be able to read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. This book has been sitting on my bookshelf for months and I have been wanting to get to it ever since! I have readsuch rave reviews for it and I can't wait to read it and see for myself what it is all about!

Catching MoondropsAnd lastly, I am hoping to start and finish another ARC I received for review, Catching Moondrops by Jennifer Erin Valent. I just received this copy about a month ago and I am trying to stay on top of my ARC's that I receive for review. This book sounds very good and I am hoping it is an enjoyable read! It has gotten some high reviews so far, so we shall see!

So, that's it folks. My first What's On Your Nightstand Post. Hoping I have good things to report when I check in next month!

  1. Congrats on finishing 3 books in one month. I remember reading Betsy and Tacy books. Good stuff. Hope you continue to enjoy The Help. I read it in only a week, which I NEVER do. It was compelling. Thanks for sharing your list! This is a fun meme that once I started, I never left.

  3. Yup- I LOVED The Help, and it is an incredibly thoughtful read and one that is loved by many.

    I also read Snow Flower and really enjoyed it, actually better than other Lisa See books that I've read. I hope you enjoy both of these!

  7. I'm hearing more and more good things about The Help and really aught to pick up a copy soon!

    I read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and liked it a lot although I prefered Memoirs of a Geisha I think.

    Catching Moondrops looks very intriguing - I like the cover design! Might have to look into that one!

  11. Three is certainly an accomplishment--especially when you've got two little ones around. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan looks interesting--and absolutely EVERYONE says that The Help is great (I guess I'll get around to it SOMEDAY.) Glad you decided to join us today!

  12. Welcome to the Nightstand! :) I hope you'll join in every month.

    I've heard really good things about The Help but haven't read it yet. Lisa See sounds like a very familiar name. I'll have to dig through my records and see if I've read anything by her.

    Looks like a great list! I hope you have a very enjoyable reading month!
