The Blessing

The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!" ~ Matthew 25:40

This past weekend I had the privilege to attend a Women of Faith conference here in my hometown with my mom, mom-in-law, aunt, and sister! To say I was blessed is an understatement!
Encouraging and inspiring stories by Nicole Johnson, Lisa Harper, Sheila Walsh, Angie Smith, and Luci Swindoll, as well as amazing music by Natalie Grant and Mary Mary! My soul was refreshed! My heart overwhelmed with joy! It was an amazing weekend! If you have yet to attend a Women of Faith conference and one is coming your way...GO!!

But, if I am being completely honest here, the event that truly changed the whole weekend for me, was when I heard the words of Matthew 25:40 spoken by Luci Swindoll and described to me in a way I never considered before. I came home Friday night and with tears in my eyes, explained to my husband that I cannot wait any longer. I need to do this. Something that has been on my heart for 5+ years...ever since attending my first Natalie Grant concert!

We prayed together and agreed together and on Saturday morning, I stopped by this booth:

I left there with a picture of the most amazing little boy! A little boy whose eyes are speaking volumes to my soul. A little boy whom I can't stop thinking about; praying about!  A little boy whom I've fallen in love with already and whom I have yet to really meet and get to know!

God is so good! If He is blessing me by picking up a card and picture of a child in need, I can only imagine the blessings this little boy is going to be receiving on the other side!

In the words of Donna Galli, a fellow sponsor, "I can't do everything, but I can do this!"

  2. Adopting/sponsoring/helping those without is something very near and dear to my heart. So beautiful how God has blessed your heart as you follow Him. I am so excited for you and your family and the little boy so far away that God has brought so close in heart with you. Thank you for sharing this today.
