Love and Forgiveness

"Go home mama!"

Those were the words I heard from My Busy Bee as we were getting ready to leave my parents house the other night!

"This is my home! I live here!"

That was what her response was when I asked her why she wanted me to go home without her. She wanted to stay at her Grandma and Grandpa's house and did not want to come home with me!

I'll admit it; I cried the majority of the way home after giving in and letting her stay the night. {probably wasn't the best decision since she was being disrespectful, but since I was already feeling like the worst mama on earth, I decided to let her stay and try to "redeem" myself in her eyes!}

Words hurt!

They can make you feel ugly, not good enough, or insignificant!

It doesn't matter if the hurtful words are coming from a 3 year old or an 83 year old! If the words are said with enough hurt thought into them, it can really have an affect on the person they are directed at!

Her chosen words that night hurt far more than I ever would have thought. They made me feel like I wasn't doing the best job at being her mama!

Her words got me thinking: "Maybe I don't play with her enough?", "Maybe I don't take her to the park or museums or library enough?", "Maybe I am just not doing enough?"

Her words left me in a sour mood the rest of the evening. My husband told me not to look so far into it, but it's hard when your child, the one you pour all your energy into day in and day out, says things that hurt.

I know she is only three years old and most likely had no idea what exactly she was saying and how much it was going to hurt, but it still left me thinking awful things about my role as her mama the rest of the evening.

When I went to pick her up the next morning, she, of course, was happy to see me and gave me a huge hug, oblivious to the fact that she had hurt me so much the night before. {and, of course, as soon as her little arms wrapped around my neck, all was forgiven!}

That is how it is with our Heavenly Father! No matter how awful we may be, whether with our words, or actions, HE forgives us as soon as we may ask, or simply just come into HIS presence! We are HIS children and HE loves us unconditionally...far more than we can even imagine! More than we love our own children!{and that's a lot!}

PhotobucketHE loves us so much, HE sent HIS one and only SON, JESUS CHRIST, to DIE! For US!

WOW! Sit and think on that for just a second!
{could you send your only child to die for the sins of another? I know I couldn't!}

I am blessed beyond words for the love and forgiveness of my LORD and SAVIOUR, Jesus Christ!

I do realize that I am doing the best that I can at being a mama to my two little blessings. And, I realize, that as they get older, they may do and say things that hurt me. But, through it all, I will always forgive them and always love them, just like my Father in Heaven will always love and forgive me! {ooh...I just got chills!} What an awesome God we serve!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ~ John 3:16
