Jane Austen Challenge Check-In #3 {giveaway}

March is such a busy month for us. With birthdays and birthdays and more birthdays, we are busy pretty much every weekend the whole month. Doesn't leave for too much lazy weekend reading time.

I have, however, started reading Pride and Prejudice and for some reason am not enjoying it at all. {anyone else have this problem?} I read it in High School and didn't enjoy it that much then either, but I thought it was immaturity and the fact that I had to read it that caused me to not enjoy it. Turns out that wasn't the case. I haven't given up on it completely though...I hate stopping a book mid-way. I will finish it, just a lot later than expected. Maybe I need to read some Jane Austen inspired "fluff" to get me out of this rut!

What have you read of Jane's, if anything? Have you enjoyed it? If not, why?

  1. Good morning Amy :)

    I couldn't make it through Pride either, and I've tried many times. My mother in law and my sister in law both love the book, though!

  2. I have not been able to read a single book yet! B90Days takes up all of my time! Perhaps I can jump into one of the 3 I have waiting on me when we are finished.

  3. I've posted 2 more reviews since the last check-in:

    Captain Wentworth's Persuasion

    The Jane Austen Handbook

    I've read all of Austen's novels, except Emma, and several of the works in her Juvenilia. I read Sense and Sensibility in high school and it took me a few chapters to get used to the language of the time. I read P&P about 10 years ago, then Persuasion and Northanger Abbey last year. Persuasion is my absolute favorite book. I think what I love most is Austen's wit and humor. Her books are a lot funnier than I expected them to be.

    I hope you find one that you like!

    No need to enter me, as I already have both books. Thanks for hosting the challenge!
