What I Love Most

She sits, hands clasped before every meal, and blesses the food. She remembers and never needs told.
He digs in the basket and hands me the book begging for me to read one more story from it.
Their children and they already know and love Him so much!

She lifts her eyes towards heaven and prays for a baby sister.
He smiles and claps as we sing "Jesus Loves Me".
These children of mine give me the greatest joy when I see them loving and praising their Heavenly Father.

And is that not my most important job as their mother to teach and show them Him? To set the example of love and forgiveness; to pray and read my Word for them to see and mimic for themselves?

Building up that foundation ever so strong and praying that it remains on through their life. That the love and morals, values and truths taught to them as children stays with them for a lifetime. That their souls would then glide up towards heaven when our Heavenly Father calls them home.

That is my deepest prayer for my children. First for their safety and protection, good health and long life, happiness and prosperity, but more importantly that they will know and love Jesus all the days of their life and dwell in His House forever{psalm 23}

I talked earlier about the importance of praying for and reading scripture to our husbands, but it is just as important to do the same for our children!

  1. Yes, yes, yes! That foundation is so important. And when I pray for my son, I almost always pray that he will grow up into a man who loves and follows the Lord!
